Kegler's Pub & Pin: 412 N River Street, 715-635-8706. Weekly and monthly events. Bowling, pool, darts, card games, karaoke, video games. Because we are a bowling center, by law we can stay open after all the other bars close. One customer says, "After they kick your drunk ass out, come to Kegler's to throw your balls around!" We are known for serving Spooner's best burgers, plus Square One Pizza, yummy chicken wings, and a variety of appetizers. Late Night Pull-tab Happy Hour every night after 9:00 PM.


Excursion Train

Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad: Ticket office at 426 N Front Street (behind Bank Mutual), 715-635-3200. New 2011 - Bed & Breakfast Train! Historic excursion and dinner train operating on approximately 20 miles of former Chicago & North Western track. The train ride runs between the northern Wisconsin towns of Spooner and Springbrook along the famous and picturesque Namekagon River. This family-oriented attraction combines historic railroad equipment with exciting special events to entertain and educate all age groups. Whether with your family or a large group, the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad has a ride or special event that will surely entertain.

Golf

Spooner Golf Club: W6120 County Hwy H, 715-635-3580. Originally designed by Tom Vardon in 1930 and seamlessly molded into the special, 18-hole layout it is today by Dr. Gordon Emerson in 1980, Spooner Golf Club has come to be known for fabulous course conditions, scenic beauty, and one of the most satisfying Northwoods golf experiences for golfers of all ability levels.

Movies

Palace Theatre: 238 Walnut Street, 715-635-2936. Two screens showing new releases, family friendly titles, and weekend matinees at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Museums

Railroad Memories Museum: 424 N Front Street, 715-635-2752 or 715-635-3325. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day or by appointment. Housed in the former Chicago & Northwestern Railway depot, Spooner's Railroad Memories Museum is packed with artifacts and memorabilia of the region's railroad history and is staffed by retired railroaders and volunteers.

Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum: 312 N Front Street, 715-635-5002. An institution devoted to the preservation and interpretation of the cultural heritage of canoes and canoeing in North America. Featuring new exhibits and a 2,500 square foot, state-of-the-art canoe building shop.

Taverns

Big Dick's Buckhorn Inn: 105 Walnut Street, 715-635-6008. Historic main street tavern in continuous business as "The Buckhorn" since the end of prohibition (and maybe during!). Full selection of over 100 beers and liquors. Over 100 fish and game mounts on display; many antiques and collectibles to view. Pee where JFK and Gov. Tommy Thompson peed; drink where Al Capone drank. Large back game room available for birthday parties, wedding receptions, and other events. We are "The Granddaddy of Downtown Spooner."
