Spooner's Historic Downtown is home to a group of civic-minded business owners who pay additional property taxes to fund beautification and promotional efforts in downtown Spooner.
The self-taxed members of Spooner's downtown contribute their tax dollars to what is known as a Business Improvement District (BID) budget. BID funds are managed by an elected Board of Directors, listed below.
All of Spooner's downtown BID members are local merchants, and they pay for this Web site, for vintage-era street lamps, for decorative banners, for holiday decorations, and for the sidewalk planters.
